—The world versus me

My poetry is blind and stubborn,
tightly bound in my emotional mind —
that it’ll take a natural disaster
to break up my style of verse

I remain fixed and determined
in the face of opposition,
and hold on to my belief
that poetry doesn’t have to be
about love or beauty —
emotion overrides…
