Sharing bygone secrets

Bones, brittle
on a lounge chair
soulless drifter
counting the waves
spirits move with swirling wind
barnacles cling to ship bottoms

Skeleton on the beach
old fan of yesteryear
thinking of the days
when covered in skin
and blood pumping
through his veins

Skeleton on the beach
devoid of brain and kidneys
heart and spleen
shadows by the campfire
prowling on Halloween night
staggering along the rocky shores

Come talk with me, the skeleton whispers
as his creaky bones creep on the sand
I’ll share my bygone secrets
reminisce about the olden times
when I was still alive
and not so creepy.
