Solitary

On being alone

Today was work and after work
more work
only you stayed
wanting to know exactly what I do after work and why I do it
so I explained and you listened and helped
with dirty hands and smudged clothing
you smiled shyly and asked
why I never ask for help
and I replied with shrugging shoulders and lowered eyes
