I think it evaporates.

You light the wick, say your wish, and watch the tides go.

No one was ever there to complete me
in the waning of my memory
the chant goes
Don’t leave me
Don’t leave me
I’m scared & alone
& nobody’s home
I’m just a little girl

I don’t cry for you anymore
I learned to love with
my eyes closed
With no light lit
Let the wind blow
I stay cold

You ask where the wax goes
I don’t have all of the answers

But I can tell you this:
I need her
the fire, the wind, the light, the sound

I am only as good as the house holds
We are not meant to be alone
