The stories of spiritual gurus conning their followers, particularly within Hinduism, have become too familiar. There is no denying that many criminals exist, and “better safe than sorry” certainly applies here.

However, there is another side to this story, one that I have faced firsthand as a spiritual life coach. Here, I share my struggles in spiritual coaching.

The Struggles of a Spiritual Guide

My journey began with a sincere desire to aid the youth, specifically those who practice Hinduism (who happen to be mainly in India). I provided free spiritual life coaching, devoting many hours to mentoring youngsters.

Despite my genuine intentions, I found myself dealing with a chronic bias — many viewed me as if I were a potential con artist. Yet, ironically, the more alarming reality is that a staggering 7 out of 10 individuals I coached attempted to exploit me, either financially or otherwise.

This statistic is not just a reflection of their actions but also the deep-seated issues within the Hindu society— the majority of these young people were unaware that they were engaging in manipulative or abusive behavior.
