This week marks one year since the acceptance of the SDGs. Global Goals week, following the opening of the 71st United Nations General Assembly last week, has officially begun. Here are the some main events from today, and how to follow them.

Global Compact- The Private Sector Forum

#UNPSF

The Private Sector Forum gives business and non-governmental leaders the chance to discuss and create solutions to the biggest issues facing the world today. Co-chaired and held alongside the United Nations High-Level Meeting of the General Assembly to address Large Movements of Refugees and Migrants, the PSF is important for private groups and companies looking to understand where they can fill in gaps in SDG monitoring and achievement.

General Assembly: Summit for Refugees and Migrants

#UN4RefugeesMigrants

Happening today, the Summit for Refugees and Migrants is an entire day at the UN dedicated to discussing the international response to the current refugee movement issues. Complementary events will be held throughout the week. This important event is linked to other events throughout the week, including the Private Sector Forum.

Social Good Summit

#2030NOW

This Summit, held in NYC alongside the UNGA, is a two day conference that discusses technology and media’s role in achieving, and monitoring, the SDGs to achieve the 2030 Agenda. Linked to the Global Compact’s Private Sector Forum, companies and private groups are given the chance to present and discuss the importance of technology in the SDGs. The Summit ends tonight, and can be streamed live.
