For the first time in a post-COVID world, the global community gathered in person in New York for the UN General Assembly. Along with the formal proceedings, hundreds of events — both large and small — took place to commemorate Global Goals Week.

If you need to catch up on some of the most important events, check out the coverage from our sister site StartingUpGood:

With so much action going on in person and virtually, it was easy to miss some of the data and reports being released and referenced. Here is our list of recently published material you should be paying attention to on the heels of Global Goals Week.

UN Annual Report

  • United Nations
  • “The past year has been one of deep and interlocking crises that are growing in scale and severity. The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic persists and, with less than 20 per cent of people in low-income countries vaccinated, recovery is uneven. The war in Ukraine has caused distress for millions of people in and far beyond the country and has amplified the effects of the climate crisis and long-standing inequalities around the world. All these challenges transcend borders and can be solved only with forceful collective action.”

Goalkeepers

  • Gates Foundation
  • “This report attempts to answer the question, ‘How is the world doing?’ We want people to grasp what the numbers say about the trajectory of human progress.”

UN Women’s Progress report

  • UN Women
  • ‘“Progress on the Sustainable Development Goals: The gender snapshot 2022” presents the latest evidence on gender equality across all 17 Goals, calling out the long road ahead to achieve gender equality. It emphasizes the interlinkages among the goals, the pivotal force gender equality plays in driving progress across the SDGs, and women and girls’ central role in leading the way forward.’
