Why you should follow the SDG Business Forum
The Sustainable Development Goals Business Forum begins today as part of the Ministerial segment of the High Level Political Forum. Here’s why everyone should watch.
The sessions and speakers of the SDG Business Forum delve into the roles of the private sector and business community in the achievement, and monitoring, of the SDGs. While much of the HLPF last week was dedicated to national governments and special group stakeholders, the importance of civil society and the private sector were highlighted. The implementation and reporting of the SDGs will fall into many hands, especially the hands of sectors that are a part of our everyday lives: companies, businesses, and enterprises both local and international.
How have businesses already begun the path to SDG achievement?
How is the private sector handling reporting and monitoring of the Global Indicator Framework?
How will business and private investors fund the SDGs, and fund the data collection necessary to leaving no one behind?
All of these questions will be discussed today during the SDG Business Forum. The first session of the day will be held at 10:00 am EST, and will be broadcast live on UN TV.
