Katie now aims to support indigenous communities in Australia through the sustainable development goals. Her innovative project involves bringing together business leaders and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to work together and innovate projects that are sustainable, economically and socially prosperous. Aboriginal environmental philosophy understands the interconnectedness of all these spheres and Katie also recognizes that economic prosperity need not come at the expense of socio-cultural and environmental degradation. Katie’s solution contributes to the achievement of SDG 8: Decent work and economic growth.
