Taking “going green” global

Since our founding on November 1, 2014, SeaLab has had passion for sustainability. As a fully distributed company with a completely “remote work” model, we already have a head start on a lot of green initiatives; but the question is always “how can we do more?”.

Over the years we’ve participated and excelled at Austin Green Business Leaders, set up booths and crafts at Earth Day, billed carbon offsets for our tiny business, and participated (and won a few times!) in “Green Competitions” with fellow AGBL businesses every year. However, with growth and a fully distributed model comes increased distance between SeaLabinites, and an inability to get together physically as we did in the past. As a result of this difficulty, we’ve been on the hunt for our next way to engage with the sustainable community and give back as a team; Evertreen is our answer.

It is my great pleasure to announce that SeaLab has partnered with Evertreen in 2023 to continue our green initiative as a company.

So how does this partnership work exactly?

There are lots of opportunities to engage with Evertreen and SeaLab!

  • SeaLab is on a monthly retainer model with Evertreen and donate 80 trees per month to be planted all around the world.
  • Every time SeaLab starts a new project, an additional tree will be added in honor of that new partnership.
  • Every yearly anniversary of working with a long-term client, an additional tree will be planted!
  • Every year on a SeaLabinite work anniversary, an additional tree will be planted!
  • And more to come…

We’re still iterating on excuses to plant trees, so if you have any ideas, please reach out, and don’t hesitate to donate a tree of your own through our forest!

Greener pastures are ahead!
