Social stratification exist in many aspects and has lasted throughout human history. Society today, democracy declares that everyone should be regarded equally, however the situation has not improved. 
The gap between the powerful and the weak is growing larger, and it is not just about money but also education and the chances people are given. In the movie “Negative Forces, Witchcraft and Idolatry” rich and working class mostly used the space during the day, while the poor seek refuge during the night.
The subway is a shared space between different classes. They have the opportunity to communicate, but even if they would not able to understand or live each other’s life. They are separated by the fact that the poor are bound by their social reality, and that the rich has no interest in the poor.
In the modern world, many rich are keeping their positions and only care about exploiting the poor, and being entertained. Although the poor wish to break away from their backgrounds, their dreams cannot fly and just get shattered by reality. This is inequality.

Resonance

So What — A Conceptual Study

Installation work inspired by composer Miles Davis music: “So What”

Resonance is a phenomenon in which a vibrating system or external force drives another system to oscillate with amplitude at a specific preferential frequency.
The masterpiece “so what” by Miles Davis, composed six decades ago, with the gentle piano cello melody, drums and trumpet presented bouncing beats, contained rich melody and rhythm, reflected a fullness of emotions and meanings. This inspiration music, with the cohesion of instrument sounding in great rhythm and melody, aroused resonance in audience’s inner sense across the time and space.
Even six decades later, the rises and falls in tones and melody, still have their power in bouncing the feeling of fortune and suffer from one’s life situation that she or he might be confronted. The only truth is that we all started from the birth and will end in death, whatever happened during the lifetime get witnessed by time and space. We have the limited life, while the music of nature never stops.
Rhythm and melody create music, time and space witness everything. Enjoy the music and living in the present moment might be the most beautiful resonance.

The relationship between urban development and the natural environment always influencing people's living spaces.
In most cases, the rapid development of the city has gradually squeezed the natural space. 
Inspired by Macquarie Place, a historic green park where the first European landed on this continent，has now surrounded by high-rise establishments. It has been squeezed into a very small space and almost disappearing.
The work using symbolic and abstract methods in representing the dynamic changing process and delivering the feeling of oppressed by the modern life, indicating the relationship between urban and natural environment.
