Mohammad Mushfiqur Rahim is a Bangladeshi Cricketer. He has born on May 9, 1988 in Bogra Bangladesh. He is the current captain of Bangladesh National Cricket Team. He is a Wicket-keeper and middle order Batsman.

Mushfiq was born to Mahbub Habib and Rahima Khatun. Of the four brothers and one sister, Mushfiq is fourth. On September 25, 2014, he got married to Jannatul Kifayet Mondi.

Education back ground of Mushfiqur Rahim:

Mushfiq was a good student in his student life. He studied at Bogra Zilla School then Bangladesh Kriara Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP). He completed his graduation post-graduation in History from Jahangirnagar University.

Early carrier:

Before playing for the Bangladesh National Cricket Team, Mushfiq planed in Bangladesh Under 19s. At that time, Coach Salauddin played a great role in shaping him as a player.

In 2005, Mushfiq got his first chance at the National team. During Bangladesh’s first tour to England he played two preparatory matches against Essex and Nottinghamshire scoring 63 and 115 runs respectively.

For his performance, he got the opportunity to play in the first Test Cricket match against England as a specialist Batsman. Due to his ankle, he could not play the next match thus returning to Bangladesh.

In 2006, under his captaincy Bangladesh Under 19 tem played the Under 19 World Cup.

Current top players like Sakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal were also in the team. Under his captaincy, Bangladesh team made it to the quarter final.

In 2006,. Mushfiq again accompanied Bangladesh Cricket Team at Zimbabwe. Farhad Reza and Sakib Al Hasan also debuted in this match. In Harare, against Zimbabwe, Mushfiq got his first half century. Next year, Khaled Masud Pilot replaced Mushfiq in the West Indies World cup.

He was again called up for the second test match against Sri Lanka in July 2007. In this match, Mushfiq, along with Ashraful, scored 191 runs setting a new record. Mushfiq played an excellent 80 run innings.

In the 2015 World Cup, Mushfiq played an impeccable 71 run innings against Afghanistan and became Man of the Match.

In August 2009, Mushfiq was appointed Vice Captain of the Bangladesh National Cricket Team at Zimbabwe tour. Mashrafe bin Mortaza, the then Captain was injured and was replaced by Sakib Al Hasan. Of the five matches in the series, Bangladesh won four matches. Mushfiq scored 169 runs in the series with an average of 56.33.

Then on January 2010, he got his first test century at the 5 day test against India at home series. He became the fastest century-maker scoring 100 runs for 112 balls. Unfortunately, Bangladesh lost the match.

In February 2010, England team visited Bangladesh for two test and three ODIs. Bangladesh lost all test and ODIs match. In the series Mushfiq became the second highest run scorer in ODIs and test match. He scored two half centuries in first test match.

Bangladesh cricket team made two tours in England in May and July of 2010. That time they played two test and three ODI matches. Bangladesh won only on ODI. In the series, Mushfiq managed only 40 runs. He was rested due to physical problems thus missing rest of the matches.

At November 2010 BCB announced sixteenth central contracts players naming Mushfiq as one of the top six players.

That year on November 8, Mushfiq score 114 runs from 120 balls at the one day international innings in National Cricket League. It was one of his best performances.

In December 2010, Tamim Iqbal replaced Rahim as Vice Captain. Mushfiqur Rahim was included at 15 player squad for 2011 World Cup. Bangladesh went out in the group stage.

Mushfiq also did not do well.

In August 2011, Mushfiq got his first ODI century. He scored 101 from 100 deliveries.

As Captain of the National Cricket Team:

On September 20, 2011 he was appointed as the Captain of the Bangladesh National Cricket Team. Next month Bangladesh played with West Indies a T20I, three ODIs and two test matches. Mushfiq score 41 runs T20I match in 26 balls and became Man of the Match. Bangladesh team won the T20I but lost the ODI series 2–1 and test series also lost 1–0.

In December 2011, Bangladesh team played three ODIs and two Tests matches against the visiting Pakistan team. Bangladesh lost all ODIs and Tests matches. Mushfiq scored 12 runs from three ODIs match.

Under Mushfiq’s captaincy Bangladesh reached the final of the 2012 Asia Cup where it played against Pakistan and lost.

He scored a double century on March 11, 2013 at the first test tour in Sri Lanka. He was the first Bangladeshi cricketer to do so.

On May 8 2013, Mushfiq suddenly announced his resignation from captaincy but reinstated by BCB until the end of 2013. In October and November 2013, under his captaincy Bangladesh team whitewashed New Zealand in the 3 match ODIs series but lost the T20I match.

The next year, Mushfiqur Rahim continued as full time captain but replaced by Anamul Haque due to injury. Mashrafe Bin Mortaza became the captain at the T20I.

In August 2014, Bangladesh played three ODIs and two test matches against West Indies. At the first test match’s second innings Mushfiqur Rahim got his third test century (116 runs).

In September 2014, BCB named Mashrafee bin Mortaza as ODI and T20I captain and But Mushfiq Test format Captain.

At the November 2014 home series against Zimbabwe, Bangladesh played five ODIs and two test matches. Bangladesh whitewashed Zimbabwe in both series. Mushfiqur Rahim received Man of the Series Award for the ODI series. He also got his second ODI century against India in this match. He scored 114 but Bangladesh lost the match.

In 2015, he got his third century against Pakistan and Bangladesh team won. This year, he also got another century against Zimbabwe and Bangladesh won that match too.

Mushfiqur Rahim is very emotional. When Bangladesh team lost he becomes very upset. On May 8 2013, he resigned from captaincy after Bangladesh lost to Zimbabwe. In 2012, Asia Cup final match when Bangladesh lost to Pakistan he cried a lot. He helps homeless children. He also helps poor people of his locality. He is a consistent performer in the field.
