Soumya Sarkar: The Star of Tomorrow

Soumya Sarkar was born on February 25, 1993 at Satkhira in Bangladesh. He is the rising star of Bangladesh cricket team. He is also one of the most important members in Bangladesh national cricket team and one of the best left handed batsmen in the world. Soumya Sarkar also plays for the Dhaka Gladiators, Khulna Division, Prime Bank Cricket Club, and Duronto Rajshahi. He is also a right hand medium first bowler.

Soumya Sarkar started his cricket journey in 2008 at BKSP. He made his first class cricket debut in 2010. In his first match, he played for Khulna Division against the Dhaka Division in 2010. He is a very good batsman and able to use properly the new ball and power-play. All time he tries to increase his team’s bating run rate. He was one of the main members in 2012 under 19 T20 world cup cricket in Bangladesh cricket team

and he played very well in this tournament. In November 2013, against New Zealand his name was listed in primary squads but at the end he does not get chance to play in the final squad. In December 2014, at Bangladesh home series against Zimbabwe, again he was listed in the primary squad and the last ODI he made his debut against Zimbabwe. In his first match, he did not ball any over and in the bat, he got 20 runs against 18 balls.

Soumya Sarkar is a new cricketer in Bangladesh Cricket. In his short career, he has many achievements and if he continues like this, one day he would become a great cricketer in the world. His main achievement is he won player of the series awards in South Africa vs Bangladesh in 2015. On the other hand, he got man of the match awards three times against Pakistan, South Africa.
