Holy mother of the plantain forest!!! I have never seen anything quite so sobering in my entire life. It took us two hours to get through the port because it was so fucking enormous! What a powerful representation of the insatiable consumption of humanity. Here we are, rapidly obliterating our finite resources with technological gusto. There was one point when I was watching a set of 20 cranes the size of skyscrapers pick up some of the thousands of shipping containers from a colossal ship with their robotic arms and it really felt like the apocalypse.

The port of Antwerp second-largest port in Europe and it’s biggest ship can carry EIGHTEEN THOUSAND CONTAINERS.

The whole thing was as beautiful as it was unsettling, hopefully some of the pictures below can do it justice.
