Digitalization is key to our electric mobility transformation, and a priority for SEAT S.A. That’s why in 2020, we created our first fleet management software called Giravolta to provide people with simple solutions to their urban and corporate mobility needs and to help change the rules of mobility.

Giravolta is our multimodal mobility platform that offers digital solutions including on-demand mobility and a shared vehicle management system. It’s oriented to consolidate shared mobility in companies, cities and regions and offer everything out of one hand for the users.

Since the beginning, we’ve been working with agile and lean methodologies to ensure that what we do is constantly updated with new solutions, is focused on client feedback, and plays a leading role in the digitalization process.

With early solid success, our platform for mobility and micromobility services has been successfully deployed in 8 European countries including Spain, Germany, Ireland, Finland, Sweden, Greece, France and most recently, in Croatia.

What exactly does Giravolta do?

Giravolta allows operators to manage various types of shared vehicles like cars, mopeds, kick scooters, bicycles, ebikes and cargo bikes as well as a demand responsible shuttle service, all from the same place. It also provides end users with real-time data of the connected fleets, in which your smartphone functions as a vehicle’s remote control, no physical keys are needed.

The data generated during travel time is analysed and used to identify how and where the best mobility solutions can be offered at the right moment and in the right place for the mobility user.

But Giravolta isn’t just for the SEAT S.A. and VW group family. Flexible whitelabeling options are available for brands to make Giravolta their own.

“We’re currently working with over 15 different companies under their own names. We provide the solution, and they can adapt it to their needs, directly from Giravolta Backoffice”, said Laia Poyatos, Product Lead of Giravolta.

Giravolta success stories

At SEAT S.A. headquarters in Martorell, our platform is being used to manage a fleet of around 100 cars, eScooters and buses. It also collects data that simplifies route optimization and develops better mobility solutions for employees, driving up vehicle utilization by 100% and more.

In Wolfsburg, at the Volkswagen plant, Giravolta is managing 250 cars, 4 buses and 20 e-bikes to help move employees around the 6.5 million m2 of factory.

In Dublin, Bleeper Active has been managing bike services with Giravolta since 2022 where it has more than 1K bicycle licences and 125K registered users.

And on the Greek island of Astypalea, Giravolta is being used by the local government to set up an electrification project for a fleet of vehicles, offering carsharing, eBike sharing and eScooter sharing services as well as an on-demand transportation services for 1,300 residents and some 36,000 tourists who visit the island every year.

“Over the years, we have connected more than 10,000 vehicles already and over 500,000 users have registered to services on Giravolta, but we expect those numbers to keep growing in the coming years “, said Oliver Grimm Chief Commercial Officer of SEAT CODE.
