Hackathon Stage Topic Overview:

Schedule will be shared soon on the workshops and talks. Announcing this Thursday.

Talk Description & Overview

Here is more description of the some of the talks. Note: This isn’t all. This will get updated.

Digital Identity

Digital identities are one of the foundation technologies enabled by blockchain — we have a unique opportunity on this panel to move past the academic narrative with real-world examples of how digital identities can improve the lives of everyone, lower costs and reduce risks.

Panelists:

  • Chris Spanton, T-Mobile
  • Drummond Reed, Evernym
  • Vaughan Emery, DATAFi Labs
  • Tony Little, Optum 360

Fair Ordering in an Unfair World

In this talk, we’ll dive into the properties of fair ordering, why it’s paramount in a decentralized world, and how hashgraph uniquely delivers it. We’ll also cover some of the other unique qualities of Hedera, including: confirmation methods, variety of network services, and enterprise governing council.

Talk by Cooper Kunz, Hedera Hashgraph

Duration: 30 minutes + 10 minutes Q&A
Audience:
Developers & Enterprise

Is your VPN lying to you? How decentralization can preserve internet privacy

How do we preserve the openness and accessibility of the internet while protecting our privacy? VPNs are one of the fastest, easiest solutions yet the industry has been fraught with pitfalls. Decentralization preserves privacy — by design — offering a radical solution to a growing, global problem.

Talk by Tegan Kline, Orchid Protocol

Duration: 15 minutes
Audience: For Everyone.

Resilient Wallets

Hardware wallets simplify the management of digital assets. However, the existing generation of hardware wallets all have a single point of failure. This single point of failure is the private key.
Secure multiparty computation (MPC) can be used to remove the dependency on a single key. This talk will explore the power that MPC brings to digital asset management.

Talk by Munair Simpson, IoTrust.KR

Duration: 15 minutes
Audience: IoT, Developers, Security
