Marketing a Childcare Website after Covid-19.

Where to start:

First, make sure your website is up to date and without errors. Your website is your main image, and we all know first impressions are everything. Make sure that your website is easy to navigate. Have a clear call to action button on your page. It would help if you had something to catch the parents and draw them in. Maybe photos of children, kids playing with each other, or doing the activities you have daily planned.

A poorly designed website and grammar can do great harm to your site. Always check with parents before you use any photos of their children. You want inviting colors. If you have the time, do some research into colors that give an inviting look. That gives off a feeling of comfortability.

Write your story:

This is where you must write your story. You want to attract your clients to your facility. Tell them what makes you stand out from the rest. If you have anything that the other childcare facilities don’t have, highlight them. Speak about your enrollment process. It’s been proven that parents would rather have a childcare facility that offers:

  • Contactless enrollment.
  • Contactless payments.
  • Photos of their child during their daily activities.
  • Parent communication app.
  • Digital documentation.
  • Shared videos.
  • Assessments.
  • And others.

Suppose you have any of these things. That’s a plus. Your childcare center needs to stand out from the rest. Think about all your marketing strategies. There are a lot of places you can get and attract potential customers. You may even be able to use your Facebook page. You must make sure your website design is inviting and easy to navigate.

One thing you could do is market your childcare facility on google business. You need to create a GMB (google my business) account. Then you will be asked for hours of operation, location, etc. After you are done filling in all the info for your google business, your childcare website should start appearing in Google searches.

To make your website stand out in Google searches.

When you make your Google business account, make sure you input as much information about your business. Make sure you add photos and add links to your website. If your company is one that you have had for a while, you can ask your prior clients to review your childcare facility online. When you get a review, make sure to reply, be it good or bad. Always respond, and show that you care about your customers, children, and center.

Covid-19 restrictions lifting:

There have been so many things going on in the past couple of years. We all have had it rough. Due to Covid-19, many places had to close, and many parents feared for the safety of their children, so they removed them from childcare.

Now that Covid-19 is no longer causing a shutdown, parents are starting to plan and look for childcare services. I would make a business card linked to my childcare facility website. Add a phone number and ask people to spread them out. You could even post information at some stores or schools if you ask them first. Word of mouth is even good.

Your online presence is a significant thing when it comes to your promotion. Use your social media accounts and blogs, all that you may have, like an online store. If you don’t have a website, create a website, or have someone do it for you. If you want to show up in all search engines, make sure you have good web hosting and a custom domain.

Childcare marketing is like all other marketing. Even if you are a small business, you must show you are unique and stand out from other daycare centers and care centers. Put your heart into your web design and childcare. You must have the time and patience.

If you don’t have a lot of money to start, you can even use a drag and drop service to create your site. This way, you can reach everyone from the local parent to maybe just someone coming in town and needs a sitter for a while.

There may be times when you feel like nothing is happening, but give it time and never give up. It will help if you promote constantly. Make flyers, post ads, and ask people to tell others. Give out deals or promotions for online sign-ups. You could offer after-hours emergency services or even weekends. The possibilities are endless.

Your facility:

When you have your open house, make sure to have a clean home and have your program ready to show the parents what their children will be doing throughout the day/night, whenever you have them. I mentioned the Storytime while another staff gives a tour above. But you can also have carpet time, where everyone, parents included, can sit around the carpet and introduce themselves and their child. Make sure you.

You have many options to market your childcare website

  • Articles
  • Associations
  • Blogging
  • Bulletin board
  • Childcare resource and referral agency
  • Centers
  • Elevator speech

When it’s time, have a grand opening. Have lemonade and snacks for the parents and children, give them a tour, and even feature a storybook reading while another staff member provides the time. Make sure you are displaying your certificates and degrees. Offer something like a free Mother’s Day out half-day so clients can relax a little or even go out for a bit.

You could even do a couple of days free so the parents can see how their child will adapt to the new scene. Childcare is a great business to get into if that is what you like to do.

You can market your website almost anywhere. When you are promoting your site, put out a letter or report. Always remember to put yourself into your potential customer’s shoes.

If you were a parent, what would you want for your child? Always make sure to have safety measures in place, fire drills, earthquake drills, and have your first aid kit stocked with your list of parents’ contact info and address and any emergency info you may need.

Make your home or center inviting and comfortable for the parents and children. Pass out some questionnaires to get suggestions of what the parents would like to see included that were not mentioned and or included in the open house and or tour. You want the parents to leave happy, relaxed, and comfortable with leaving their child there.

Answer any questions that they may have. Most importantly, make sure your license, insurance, and C.P.R certifications are updated. Always keep your home or childcare facility up to code and stocked.

So now I send you off, hopefully with enough information, to feel comfortable and ready to get out there and get your foot back in the door, even if this is your first time running a childcare facility. Don’t let anything stand in your way of what you want.

Obstacles may come but that goes along with everything in life so if you ever get frustrated or confused along the way, breathe and tell yourself it will be okay.

A great website to check as a reference is Kirkland Childcare based in Washington state.
