What started as a relaxing weekend suddenly turned into a storm of activity.

My niece’s little one decided to turn ONE on Sunday and of course I wanted to make a cake for him.

The entire exercise started with figuring out the design and after much deliberation we settled on the MINIONs once again. They just seem to be the hot favourite of all children.

The first step, besides baking the cake was to get going on the decorations-

the minions started to get their eyes and goggles in place which turned out to be a pretty daunting task but the end result was a treat for the eyes and the taste buds, so well worth the time and effort:)

But these were just the miniatures for the little fella and his buddies (quite a lot of them for a 1 year old). There had to be a bigger cake for the mommys and daddys as well which could also serve the purpose of the proverbial cake cutting. So this is what we churned out for them

unfortunately the clothes line did not hold up to the travel the cake had to undergo and had to be sacrificed, but important lesson learnt, that delicate structures like these need to be put up right before the cutting of the cake, though tested totally in advance, one can never leave anything to chance or — it’ll work out the way i want it to.

The minions made their appearance, clothes or no clothes. The cake was enjoyed by the tiny tots and their parents, as for me, an Important lesson learnt.
