Having dived into placing market orders and now holding active loans or having placed limit orders and providing liquidity to Secured Finance, it’s time to master the art of maneuvering your positions. To be a stellar bond trader, you need to know the ins and outs of efficiently adding, reducing, or unwinding your positions. (If you’re a newcomer, don’t fret! Our trusty user guide at the bottom of the page is here to ensure you navigate this mission like an ace pilot.)

Head over to the webapp and click on ‘Portfolio Management’. This is your command center for monitoring the performance of your bonds and managing your loan portfolio under Secured Finance.

Under ‘Active Positions’, you’ll find a neatly organized list of all your current loans. Your positions are netted off according to contracts.

Keep an eye out for the ‘Actions’ button on the right side of the contract details.

Add/Reduce Position: Clicking this will transport you to the contract orderbook, where you can either bolster your position or scale it down. You can do this based on the market price by setting orders opposite your position.

Unwind: This is your eject button. If there’s ample liquidity in the orderbook, ‘Unwind’ will execute a market order to close out all your exposure in one fell swoop.

A ‘Unwind Position’ confirmation window will pop up. Double-check the details, and when you’re ready, click ‘Confirm’.

Once ‘Confirm’ is clicked, you will need to confirm execution using your MetaMask wallet.

A few seconds later, you’ll get confirmation that it succeeded. The Transaction Hash will bring you to view your transactions on Etherscan.

Now, let’s talk about your ‘Open Orders’. This section showcases all your limit orders still waiting in the wings. Want to cancel an order? Click on ‘Actions’, and your limit order will be cancelled. For cancelled lend limit orders, the assets will be beamed back to you under ‘Asset Management’.

And there you have it! You’re now equipped to expertly navigate the intricacies of adding, reducing, or unwinding positions on Secured Finance.
