Secured Finance’s Journey to Filecoin Community Events

As Secured Finance works toward releasing a Filecoin-collateralized stablecoin, we were excited to participate intensively in the Filecoin Dev Summit and Protocol Labs Dev Summit, alongside several significant community events. This week of engagement was pivotal, allowing us to introduce our project, gather feedback, and deepen our presence within the Filecoin community.

Launching Our Stablecoin on Testnet

During this period, we officially announced the launch of our stablecoin on the testnet. This milestone enables broader testing and user feedback, essential as we finalize the contract code. Moving forward, we plan to incorporate feedback, conduct a few thorough audits, and prepare for a mainnet launch. To this end, we demonstrated the stablecoin’s specifications, current development stage, and its unique value proposition to the Filecoin network.

Key Goals and Achievements

Our main objectives for these events were raising community awareness, increasing acceptance, and establishing a solid presence for Secured Finance. Through various presentations and interactions, we achieved these goals, successfully communicating the importance and potential of our Filecoin-backed stablecoin.

Highlights from DevCon and Community Events

We joined a series of impactful events, such as:

FIL Dev Summit (November 6–8, 2024)
This summit provided deep insights into the challenges, roadmap position, and strategic direction within the Filecoin ecosystem. The Filecoin community outlined three main focus areas for the coming year:

Achieving Product-Market Fit (PMF) for user acquisition in data storage,
Establishing a sustainable business model that drives revenue, and
Growing in-network activity by tracking all actions on-chain to reinforce the Filecoin economy.

These focus areas align closely with Secured Finance’s stablecoin goals, as our project will support both sustainable growth and in-network transactions within Filecoin. By syncing with these goals, our aim is to help build the broader Filecoin ecosystem.

PL Dev Summit (November 9–10, 2024)
Organized by Protocol Labs, the PL Dev Summit focused on fostering deep discussions to drive the network’s evolution. Sessions covered topics such as builder programs, systems and tooling, and talent acquisition. Secured Finance engaged with other network members to explore collaborations and gather feedback on our stablecoin initiative.

FIL Bangkok Main Stage (November 11, 2024)
At FIL Bangkok, a major Filecoin community event co-hosted by Filecoin Foundation and CoinDesk, our founder Masa took the main stage to announce the testnet launch of our stablecoin. This moment, streamed live by CoinDesk, marked a key milestone for Secured Finance as we invited the broader community to engage with our project, test the platform, and provide valuable feedback. RWA Leaders Brunch: Devcon 2024 Edition (November 12, 2024)
This invite-only brunch gathered founders, builders, and investors in the Real World Assets (RWA) space to network and share insights. Secured Finance participated in discussions on the integration of RWAs into decentralized finance, aligning with our mission to bridge traditional finance with blockchain technology.

VIP Brunch with GSR & SCB 10X (November 12, 2024)
Hosted by GSR and SCB 10X, this exclusive networking lunch provided an opportunity to connect with industry leaders. Secured Finance discussed potential partnerships and strategies to enhance the adoption of our stablecoin within the broader financial ecosystem. We extend a special thanks to GSR, one of our major investors, for their ongoing support and collaboration in our journey.

Devcon 2024: DePIN Founders Gathering (November 12, 2024)
This private gathering, hosted by Parasail in collaboration with Protocol Labs and Fluence, brought together leaders in the Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks (DePIN) space. Secured Finance engaged in meaningful conversations to explore how our stablecoin could support and integrate with DePIN initiatives.

Ethereum DevCon Southeast Asia (November 12–15, 2024)
Ethereum DevCon Southeast Asia, one of the most important developer conferences, brought together developers, thinkers, and leaders from around the world. This conference served as a major networking and knowledge-sharing platform, allowing participants to understand the latest directions and innovations in Ethereum. This conference created invaluable opportunities for networking, helping Secured Finance connect with diverse groups and gain insight into the current direction of the blockchain and DeFi ecosystems.

Key Achievements:

Testnet Launch: Announced the deployment of our stablecoin on the testnet, inviting community participation for testing and feedback.

Community Engagement: Enhanced our presence within the Filecoin and broader blockchain communities through active participation and presentations.

Strategic Networking: Established connections with potential partners and investors to support the future growth and adoption of our stablecoin, while also strengthening and deepening relationships with our existing partners and investors.
