Update
USDFC Is About to Go Public
Filecoin-native USD liquidity for everyone
After two tightly controlled testing rounds, USDFC — the first stable‑coin collateralised by native FIL — opens to the public officially next week. In this article you will discover
- how the Alpha → Beta timeline unfolded and why the peg is already rock‑solid,
- how USDFC actually works (110 % collateral ratio),
- the practical utility you can tap right now, and
- what we’re building next to make lending even simpler.
From Alpha to Official Launch
USDFC has been live in controlled conditions for weeks, with a 24/7 arbitrage bot guarding the peg. After a comprehensive testing programme, we are confident the stable-coin is ready for open use.
Alpha — March 2025
- External security audits and adversarial-attack simulations
- Swap-pool deployment and intensive internal “dog-food” trading
- Listings on CoinGecko, DeFiLlama, GLIF Explorer, and other analytics dashboards
Beta — April 2025 to present
- Bug-bounty program: we’ve received 36 reports from 19 white-hat participants; no high-severity issue uncovered
- Crypto Econ Lab (CEL) led full stress tests: liquidations, redemption loops, and edge-case scenarios
- Peg-monitor bot running live, making continuous micro-adjustments
Key beta metrics so far
- SushiSwap volume: > 100 k USD per week
- Cumulative lending volume: > 250 k USD
- USDFC APR: 8–10 % against iFIL / pFIL collateral, whose own staking yield sits near the same range
Official Launch— next week at FIL Dev Summit 6
With the peg stable, the code battle-tested, and real liquidity already flowing, we’re comfortable moving to a full public release. From block one, every Filecoin wallet will be able to mint, swap, lend, and bridge USDFC.
USDFC in Plain English
- Lock FIL in a vault.
- Mint USDFC up to 110 % collateral ratio.
- Redeem at any time by burning USDFC and withdrawing the same FIL.
- If your ratio dips below 110 %, the Stability Pool repays the debt and liquidates the vault — an event now promptly arbitraged by our bot.
Because users unlock liquidity without selling FIL, USDFC helps moderate the sharp price swings that still characterise the Filecoin market.
Where You Can Already Use USDFC
Swap
SushiSwap V3 is live to exchange FIL/USDFC and USDFC/axlUSDC.
Payment
Lighthouse now accepts USDFC for long-term storage fees, delivering Filecoin’s first true USD checkout.
Mint ↔ redeem with no slippage
FIL holders can mint USDFC for operating expenses and later burn the tokens to reclaim their original FIL — no OTC desks, no price impact.
Lend & borrow with liquid-staking FIL on our Lending Apps
Both iFIL and pFIL (≈ 10 % staking yield) serve as collateral. Their yield effectively offsets the 8–10 % borrowing cost, creating a balanced market in which lenders earn a USD APR well above the DeFi average.
Bridge and cross-chain Swap
Via Axelar + Squid Router, USDFC will move to any EVM in one click, enabling additional yield strategies on DeFi platforms.
Why High-Yield USD Matters
The Filecoin ecosystem has lacked seamless on-chain dollar liquidity. USDFC closes that gap while offering an attractive return profile. By letting users borrow rather than sell, it contributes to price stabilisation; by providing double-digit USD yields that travel cross-chain in a single hop, it draws fresh capital into Filecoin — fuel the network needs for sustained growth.
What’s Next
Q4 2025
Launch of a pool-style lending market alongside the current order book, delivering one-click deposits for passive users.
A dedicated Market-Making Vault will supply additional liquidity to both lending venues, narrowing spreads and smoothing the borrowing experience.
