Secure Data Kit enables really passionate people all over the world to leverage data for good. We have community members who are dedicating their lives to…

Our members have trusted Secure Data Kit to collect, share and analyze data to support these various causes. We — the Secure Data Kit team — want to show our appreciation for and commitment to these missions by bringing a new level of transparency to our development plan. That’s why we’re publicizing our product roadmap, allowing our members a look into what our team is focusing on now, and what we plan to focus on over the next 12 months.

So, what’s the point of all this?

  • Collaboration: Our community members share their ideas with us all the time. We’ve always kept track of each request, but have never had a good way to let everyone in on what we’re doing. Publicizing our roadmap will allow us all to be on the same page (literally) when discussing the direction of the product with our members.
  • Accountability: Because our roadmap has always been hidden from our members in a private internal document, we had a huge lack of accountability. While we typically did a pretty good job of staying on track, publicizing our roadmap will remove any temptation to say one thing and do another. Even more important than seeing our product grow is seeing the trust our members have for us grow, and allowing members the information they need to hold us accountable is a small step in that direction.

The Secure Data Kit Roadmap went live today, check it out!
