You may be more ready than you think.

Do you remember when Luke Skywalker was a Tatooine farm boy who spent his days harvesting moisture and fixing droids for Uncle Lars? Luke knew he wanted something more in life, but for one reason or another, it seemed to be out of his reach (cue binary sunset scene).

After meeting Obi-Wan Kenobi, Luke was guided down a path that would change his life forever and allow him to harness his true power as a Jedi Master.

Luke always had Jedi Master potential, but he needed Obi-Wan’s guidance to harness it and become the hero he was meant to be.

If you’ve decided that cybersecurity is your true calling and that you’re ready to leave your Jawa bartering days behind you, then we welcome you to embrace the Cyber-Force and begin your journey towards a new hope.

All you need now is your Obi-Wan Kenobi; that’s where we come in.

Your journey starts here

SecureSet Academy is the nation’s first bootcamp style cybersecurity academy that accelerates the security professional education process. SecureSet’s CORE and HUNT programs provide an education that produces work-ready graduates to help meet the industry’s high demand for security industry professionals. These programs reduce the time it takes to become a cybersecurity professional from years to mere months.

SecureSet graduates enter their Cert preparation courses with knowledge equivalent to industry professionals with 6 years experience.

SecureSet is partnered with some of the most advanced companies in the tech industry. The Academy balances every classroom hour with an hour of hands-on lab experience. This ensures that students are more fully prepared for starting their new career in cybersecurity. CyberVista (our partner in cybersecurity certification training) notes that SecureSet graduates enter their Cert preparation courses with knowledge equivalent to industry professionals with 6 years experience.

There’s a hero in all of us

You may be thinking “This all sounds wonderful, but I’m not an IT professional, and I don’t have a technical degree. Is my cybersecurity career doomed before it even starts?” Yoda said it best, “patience you must have, my young padawan.” While formal education can’t hurt your chances of admission, the Academy places a higher value on technical and analytical ability. As with most facets of life, having work ethic and a commitment to learning will play a large role in your success as a student.

SecureSet graduates come from a wide variety of backgrounds. While some students enter the Academy as seasoned IT professionals, others enter with degrees and work experience from entirely unrelated fields.

CORE students generally have some background in programming. These students are naturally interested in computer networks, and tend to have skills in system architecture. If you want to build and fortify security systems, CORE is for you.

HUNT students come from all walks of life, but have a natural interest in research and problem solving. HUNT students also have an aptitude for research, analysis, and critical thinking. If you find yourself to be a problem solver and like the idea of trying to out-think hackers, you’re ready for HUNT.

If you feel like you lack the technical skills you need to succeed in the Academy, SecureSet offers an optional preparatory class called SecureSet PREP.

Get yourself prepped

SecureSet PREP is a six-week preparatory crash course into the world of cybersecurity. This course is designed for individuals who have a high-level of interest in cybersecurity, but lack experience in base-level technical skills. PREP is an introduction to systems, networking and Python. PREP provides you with the technical tools needed to not only thrive in SecureSet’s immersive programs, but also to flourish as a cybersecurity professional after graduation. Students who apply themselves find a great level of success in this class.

Upon successful completion of SecureSet PREP, students may be pre-qualified for the CORE and HUNT Immersive Programs. To qualify for CORE program, you must pass PREP with a final grade of 80% or better. Qualifying for the HUNT program requires a PREP grade of 60% or better. Students can also use their PREP course fees toward their overall program tuition.

Never a better time

At the end of the day, hackers aren’t going anywhere, and neither is the demand for cybersecurity professionals. Cybersecurity Ventures predicts there will be 3.5 million cybersecurity job openings by 2021. There’s never been a better time for you to join the industry and there’s never been an educational program as compressed, comprehensive, and as effective at job placement as the education provided by SecureSet.

If you have a high level of interest in cybersecurity and a serious drive to succeed, SecureSet PREP will give you all the tools that you’ll need to stop hackers in their tracks and begin your new career in cybersecurity. Like the Jedi, cybersecurity professionals come from all walks of life. Your background and experience won’t determine the level of greatness you’ll achieve in the cyber-universe. It all comes down to how deeply you desire a rewarding and exciting career, and how passionately you’re willing to pursue it. Your adventure awaits. It’s time to secure the future.

Learn more about how you can launch your cybersecurity career with SecureSet PREP at secureset.com/prep and take a look at all of our immersive programs at secureset.com. Find out when PREP starts at your local SecureSet campus by viewing our event calendar. If you can’t make it to one of our campuses for PREP, you can visit online.secureset.com and sign up to take the entire PREP workshop online!
