What People Are Saying About Security Tokens
When thinking about security tokens, people have commented on the future migration of assets to the Blockchain via token and also how tokenization can improve liquidity. We’ve summarized some of the comments from attendees at the Polycon18 conference. Below we share comments from the CEO of Polymath, Trevor Koverko, and others.
Trevor Koverko, the CEO of Polymath states:
“It all started with kind of the prediction that the next megatrend in crypto will be assets migrating to the blockchain in the form of tokens. So, real estate, bonds, private equity — pretty much any security — is better denominated as a token than it is as traditional forms of ownership like stocks, LP shares, units. This is the future, not share certifications in filing cabinets. We are excited to be at the forefront of this movement.”
Another Polycon18 conference attendee, analyst Chris King, offered the following perspective:
“A lot of assets — such as real estate, startups, VC and PE funds — are illiquid. And security tokens give them the opportunity to make them liquid assets- so that sometimes will bring a 20 to 30 percent liquidity premium in the market. Also, there is a global pool of capital that you can tap with security tokens that has been untapped.”
