Last week, on 14–15 July 2022, World Blockchain Summit took place at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Center, Singapore. World Blockchain Summit is one of the elite gatherings of the global crypto and blockchain ecosystem.

As Presenting Sponsor, Sedition had an exhibition booth at the event where we were able to showcase our platform and talk about our entry into the NFT space as well as future plans to a whole new audience of blockchain experts, art lovers, technology enthusiasts, NFT aficionados and collectors — we’d say it was one of the most diverse crowds we’ve seen! Several industry leaders were represented and it was fascinating to talk with them and learn more about how this space is evolving across other industries, the Metaverse and exciting new worlds of human endeavor.

During the event, the Sedition team also had the honor to meet Dr. Jerry Sambuaga, the Vice Minister of Trade for the Republic of Indonesia. We had the pleasure of introducing our platform to him and telling him about how Sedition is benefiting artists all across the world and our plans in the South-East Asia region.

During the World Blockchain Summit, our Director, Rory Blain, delivered a keynote speech, in which he told the story of Sedition’s work in the democratization of art, the company’s founding ideology and announced the start of the first phase of Sedition entering the NFT space. In addition, Rory took part in a panel discussion to share his insights about the future of Metaverse and NFTs as well as the impact these developments will have on the artworld with other key industry and opinion leaders in the blockchain sphere. The recordings of both the keynote and the panel discussion will be made available in the near future.

The announcement that Rory made concerning Sedition’s entry in the NFT space is that now it is possible for collectors of some of the artworks on Sedition to mint their artworks as NFTs. The artworks now possible to convert to NFTs include:

We’re looking forward to participating, speaking and exhibiting in other events in the future — new announcements will be made in the coming months!
