Nowadays Cluj-Napoca is not seen as “The Heart of Transylvania” only due to its geographical position or to its history, but also thanks to a series of factors whose achievement was possible only because of its fascinating population.

Here are some general and specific facts that will make you love Cluj-Napoca:

In the 18th and early 19th centuries under the Austro-Hungarian Empire, Cluj had a long stint as the capital of the empire’s Transylvanian province, an unofficial title it retains to this day.

European Youth Forum awarded Cluj-Napoca the title of European Youth Capital in 2015.
