How to Help Refugees: Charitable Giving on the Blockchain
To date, the Seedom community has raised approximate 1.5 ETH for two charitable causes through organized fundraising on the Ethereum Mainnet. The Seedom fundraising platform takes the efficiency, security, and transparency of the traditional single-room raffle and re-invents it with trustlessness and crowdsourced participant selection into an entirely new type of global fundraiser.
Now it’s time for another round to seed fund a social impact cause.
Donate4Refugees has been selected to benefit from the latest Seedom FUNdraiser with a goal of raising 5 ETH. This round will run from June 15th to June 25th of this year. During the contribution period, anyone can visit www.seedom.io and donate Ether to be entered to win 30% of the total amount raised. Anyone that participates in Seedom by exchanging .004 ETH per entry is eligible to vote on the next cause that could benefit from Seedom.
Donate4Refugess was chosen because June 8–24 is Refugee Week — and this year is the 20th Anniversary of Refugee Week: Different Pasts, Shared Futures. The realities are:
- 86% of refugees live in poor or middle-income countries.. but shouldn’t we all be taking responsibility and playing our part?
- Conditions for refugees across Europe are devastating and we could all show some humanity
- Children as young as 12 have been physically abused and detained here in Europe when we should be showing compassion
Donate4Refugees provides urgent aid to victims of the refugee crisis in Europe.
