After years of traveling through over 15 African countries, meeting hundreds of entrepreneurs in dozens of cities our view is clear: We believe that African start-ups have what it takes to build successful global businesses and compete with the rest of the world. Even after witnessing hundreds of pitches, we are consistently blown away by the quality and innovativeness of businesses across the continent. Despite that, we are also aware that in many cases, aspiring entrepreneurs are still fighting an uphill battle and don’t have access to the right networks, opportunities and partners to scale globally after conquering their home markets.
This is why we are excited to announce that together with StartupYourLife we will be hosting Seedstars Africa, the first edition of an annual Africa focused Flagship event focused on bringing together the best African startups and connecting them with world-class mentors, investors and ecosystem leaders from around the globe! The event will take place on January 30th, in Casablanca, Morocco, a beautiful coastal city and the economic capital of Morocco.
In partnership with OCP Entrepreneurship Network, this first edition is bringing together more than 300 startup founders, successful entrepreneurs, business angels and seed investors, leading ecosystem players, decision makers and large corporations from across Africa, Europe, the MENA region and the US. Prior to the Conference, an invitation-only Bootcamp focused on growth hacking and international scaling will provide the opportunity to 30 startups from across Africa to meet amazing mentors and investors from around the world, get challenged and learn from their feedback and workshops during two exclusive days (Jan 28–29).
We hope that this event will play a role in making the world a smaller place, helping African entrepreneurs build global businesses and give them the visibility and networks they need in order to succeed.
