Agni Mantra
Rig Veda (Sanskrit: ऋग्वेद ṛgveda) is widely accepted to date to the Bronze Age, making it one of the very few examples of unbroken tradition. It is the most ancient surviving set of books about spirituality and psychology that is still hailed high. The scripture is basically a collection of Mantras, carefully divided in 10 mandals (books) and preserved with every sound detail of every character at the cost of humongous efforts by Vedic Scholars for thousands of years, quite frequently even paying with their lives.
The very first line of this 10000+ Mantras long script is a tribute to Agni — the principle of fire — the one that generated with the big bang and manifests every living and non living being in form of transformation power. It exists in our digestive system, burning our food and converting it into the blood, in the core of the stars and planets generating heat, in the flames generating light.
Rigveda sees every act as a sacrifice. The food is sacrifice to the body, the body is a sacrifice to the earth, a thought is sacrifice to the mind, a ritual is sacrifice to the nature and Agni is the medium of each of these sacrifices. Without Agni’s ability to convert from one form to another, attaining the joy of knowing ultimate truth would not be possible. For this very reason, Agni is called to be priest, the guide and the offerer.
Of course Mantras in Vedas are read and understood for the meaning but that’s not their only purpose. Vedic mantras have distinct sound notes, rules of accents and tones and when chanted with precision generate wonders on mind, body and environment.
The first line of Rigveda is called Agni Mantra and first chapter is called Agni Suktam. The Agni Mantra has been prescribed in cases of chronic digestive problems. It is prescribed to be used at the time of setting up a fire during a yagnya ritual too. Samskara in the presence of this Mantra on any form of Agni (stomach, cooking fire, ritualistic fire etc.) creates psychological balance of infinite power of the fire and controlled nature of sound waves.

I seek the Agni, the Priest set in front of our sacrifice, the divine offerer who sacrifices in the order of the truth, who disposes utterly the delight.
Chant this mantra regularly in the presence of fire and see the wonders it brings to your body and mind.
