The Gibraltar International Fintech Forum 2018 is held annually, which is the most anticipated event for investors and innovators in field of international technology and finance.
Dr Wei Bi and Mr Hui Gong attended the forum. The forum formally started on 28th Feb 2018. The Gibraltar Chief Minister made the opening speech, followed by the Minister for Commerce.
They talked the how Gibraltar is moving to regulate Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs). Gibraltar has always a good reputation for its regulatory practices. The process for ICOs regulation might be like when the Gibraltar government decided to provide licenses to e-gaming (gambling site) back to 1998.
They also mentioned that Gibraltar has the world first Blockchain Exchanges (GBX) that belongs to a Stock Exchanges (GSX), ie GBX is a subsidiary of the EU regulated Gibraltar Stock Exchange. The forum continued with a few interesting talks and panels discussions about varies aspects of ICO, mainly about regulations, licenses, exchanges etc.
Dr Bi and Mr Gong had met quite a few people and companies that are interested in the Seele projects. Dr Bi also has introduced Seele to people from GBX and discussing the process needed of listing on the exchange and also potential opportunity for collaborations with a few companies. Dr Bi and Hui Gong will be attending panel discussion tomorrow.
As the first regulated exchange in the world, Gibraltar Blockchain Exchange fully integrates the operation process from ICO to IPO, which is an enterprise representative combining technology and finance. The government takes it very seriously. Mr. Nick Cowan, founder and CEO of Gibraltar Blockchain Exchange, also praised the Seele project.
