Seele’s Second Yellow Paper — An Accelerated Method for Message Propagation in Blockchain Networks Officially Published

On September 5, 2018, the second Yellow Paper of Seele — An Accelerated Method for Message Propagation in Blockchain Networks is officially published.
On the first stop of Seele’s Global University Tour, Dr. Wei Bi, the Chief Scientist of Seele explained the highlights of the second yellow paper to Shih-wei Liao, Associate Professor of the Department of Computer Science & Information Engineering at National Taiwan University and his students in the class. Since the publication of Seele’s first yellow paper — A Secure Multiple Elliptic Curves Digital Signature Algorithm for Blockchain, Seele’s R&D progresses smoothly as expected.

In the traditional blockchain network, the key factor influencing the blockchain’s scalability lies in the time between the propagation of a winning block and the beginning of the next round of the competition. The second yellow paper proposes a method that selects a node’s closest neighbors to make messages propagate in the whole network in time. The method measures the distance from a node to its neighbor using transmission latency; thus, the lower the latency, the closer the neighbor. Dr. Wei Bi, the Chief Scientist of Seele introduced that the new solution proposed by Seele demonstrated a good rate of decrease in average propagation latency and maximum propagation latency, compared to the classic method.
Seele: An Accelerated Method for Message Propagation in Blockchain Networks in the field of the blockchain network was submitted to the global preprint archive arXiv.org for publication, and subsequently the full text was published in our official website Seele.pro. More yellow papers covering Neural network consensus algorithm, sPoW, and the distributed system will be published in the following days.
