Collective Chats: What are we?

We’re turning a corner at SeeThrough Studios: redefining what the studio is, what it makes, what it’s called and whether it’s even a studio. While some of this is fairly clear, a lot of it’s going to evolve as we move forward. To give you an idea of where we are, we present Collective Chats: a weekly Discord chatlog where we discuss a topic that helps define us, the projects we make, or just whatever we’re interested in.

This week, we’re starting simple: What are we?

Starting our early discussions around these very basics, the team — Paul (pdyxs), Rob (rob133) and Daniel (DanielKeogh)—thrashed out what this redefinition of the studio is and what we hope to make.

So these science “abominodities” are the types of things that we might make together but what is that we each want out of this individually?

Our goals also bled into discussions about the types of subjects in science that we might be interested in, as well as the need to balance the complex with the concise.

In discussing some of our goals as a team we touched on what it is we hope to measure as signs of our success and impact.

Finally, when identifying our likely audiences, we veer into a quick crash course in science communication, education and quantum click-bait.

Not quite a project manifesto yet but the team importantly converged on what this project is and what we hope to achieve.

Next week: A simple trick that will entangle your quantum states with the ones you love! A.K.A. What we’re working on now.
