Working with the team is one of the most rewarding parts of my day-to-day. One of our 4 core values is “Tribe” (the others being Karma, Drive, and Focus). Here’s a brief case study celebrating a recent project, with special thanks to the talented people who contributed along the way!

Context

User pains lead to
Navigation redesign
To improve our app

Situate users
Also make it scalable
For cool new features

Process

Sketching on whiteboards
Group of designers brainstorm
Then I take the lead

My design process:
Sketches, wireframes, prototypes
Deliverables

Work with Eng so it’s
Feasible and usable
A knowledge exchange

Test internally
And with Segment customers
Repeat and improve!

What we launched includes
Global sidebar and breadcrumbs
Quick! Go where you like ✈️

Wireframe close-up. Built with ❤ using Evergreen, our design system

Cross-Functional Partners

Teams like PMM,
CSMs, PMs, and Eng
Help make this happen

Connect me to folks
Timeline and scope management
And lots of code, too

Teamwork makes the dreamwork 🐼 👯

Post-Launch

Key metrics increased*
Twelve-point-five (12.5%) “Strongly Agree”
New nav is easy!

Performance updates
and ongoing maintenance
are coming up next!

This team always keeps
Trying to improve, but still,
We did good today :)

Coming up next…cute puppies out of cookie dough tubes?

* We compared data collected from Segment customers from July 2018 and March 2018 via a standardized survey (SUPR-Q). Five possible responses ranged from “strongly disagree” to “strongly agree” for the statement “It is easy to navigate with Segment’s web app”.
