Facts after the match between Chapecoense, from Brazil, against Nacional, from Uruguay, are evidences that we have to be concerned about the future of humanity

This is just what supporters must do: encourage its clubs (Photo: Sirli Freitas / Chapecoense Association of Soccer)

Day by day, there are news that can cross us and influence our feelings, whether they are good or unfortunately bad ones. Of course, I would prefer if this issue that I am starting to write was referred to something that could make your day better thanks to a great example of charity, caring, stuff like this. However, these nice things will not be the subject at this time. It will be a warning. As the title of the article already shows, sometimes we have to ask: where are some people in the world going to with their actions?

I wondered it because I felt shocked after the match between Chapecoense, from Brazil, against Nacional, from Uruguay. But it has in fact no relations to the course of the game which happened on last Wednesday in Chapecó, Santa Catarina, as a qualifier to the next round of Libertadores Cup.

Probably when you hear Chapecoense you remind easily the tragedy which the club was involved in 2016 before the final match of Sulamerican Cup. That terrible plane accident which killed 71 people: athletes, employees, journalists who were travelling at the same flight and crew.

Then, returning to the shock: Nacional won Chapecoense (1–0) away from Uruguay. That’s not the point as the squad already had beaten the brazilian team last year for 3–0, in Chapecó, also in a game from Libertadores Cup.

Nacional deserves the winning against Chapecoense. The team is ‘copeiro’ as we are used to calling strong teams who know how to play this kind of championship such as Libertadores Cup and Sulamerican Cup that have knockout stages. The blues, however, doesn’t deserve some supporters they have. It if we really can call those guys as supporters.

Taunting

As soon as the referee of the match blew the final whistle, some guys wearing Nacional’s jersey started to taunt the supporters of Chapecoense terribly. They were imitating a scene of a plane crashing and blowing up. Without any mercy. Such a foolish action.

At the least these bad manners will not be unpunished in sports terms even though in my opinion it totally has passed the limit of just a soccer match attitude. It is definitely a human disrespect.

Conmebol, the entity who manage Sulamerican Soccer, has opened an investigation based in the article 14 from the disciplinary rules of the competition which treats about discrimination. Nacional will have until next Thursday to defend itself in the process. Among the punishments, the club might have to pay $3.000, lose matches at its home or even be disqualified of the cup.

Apologies

Nacional has already sent its apologies about the fact:

“We send our deep sense of shame. Unfortunately, many sick minds channel their irrationality to sporting scenarios,” wrote the club in a statement.

Beside, this afternoon Nacional informed that one of the supporters who participated of that unbelievable thing was identified thanks to the images. He was part of the club membership therefore he is already banned from it.

Be kind!

I want to look at this case as only a peculiar one, sadly in a deep bad way. But I’m quite sure that in general we have lots of good examples to follow. We certainly can pick up amazing behaviours when we think about soccer or other sports. Sometimes a cliché is useful: “don’t do for anyone what you don’t want for you”. If we thought more before our actions were done, we would have less compulsive attitudes.

I don’t know how to answer the title of this article right now. And perhaps I will not see how in a foreseeable future. But I know something: the world where we are living has too many issues to be solved. Some of them have been caused for these sickness minds who don’t care about anybody. Right. But there is an amazing way to battle against them: being kind, spreading your kindness. It will become things better for sure.

If you like it, clap as much as you can for it please!
