Falling for Big Pumpkin Fest

Big Pumpkin Fest is a local event for families to enjoy food, games, and other Fall activities in the spirit of Halloween. The Freedom Center Church in Fenton, Michigan hosts the event every year. The event is free for everyone to attend.

Walking into the event, you can find families and volunteers all dressed up in a variety of different costumes. One of the activities during Big Pumpkin Fest is the costume contest open for kids of all ages.

More than 5,000 people attended Big Pumpkin Fest hosted by Freedom Center Church in Fenton, Michigan. The event broke records in attendance in comparison to previous years the church has held Big Pumpkin Fest.

The event is largely organized by the Freedom Center Church Children’s Ministry and is funded by donations made to the Children’s Ministry. There were also sponsors involved in putting together this event including Dr.Wax’s Orthodontics located in Fenton.

The event had a variety of activities for families to enjoy, including choosing and decorating their own pumpkin.

Throughout the night were several activities for families to enjoy including pumpkin decorating, shooting apple cannons, bounce houses, and festive mini-games. Families can also enjoy hay rides around the perimeter of the church.

One of the groundskeepers in charge of the petting zoo shares a moment with a parrot.

Different than previous years, Big Pumpkin Fest also had a petting zoo with kangaroos and a parrot open for the public to enjoy during the first half of the night.
