If you’re a growing company, your talent acquisition team is probably looking at a new applicant tracking system (ATS) in order to help recruit new employees and manage job seekers.

Getting one of the best applicant tracking systems allows your company to attract, engage and convert the right talent. However, there are literally hundreds of applicant tracking systems on the market.

I’ve spent the last few months doing demos with many of the top ATS’s. I’ve also spoken to over a dozen HR and recruiting professionals about what systems they love, and the tools they could live without.

Here are the top tier ATS’s out there. Some of these systems are definitely priced at a premium. However, for organizations that are growing quickly, and need to find the right talent, they are more than worth the investment.

Here they are, the best applicant tracking systems:

Greenhouse is one of the best applicant tracking systems for a few reasons. They have easy to use APIs which allows all of your other HRTech to integrate into their system. They also have a lot of functionality beyond a typical ATS including a CRM, onboarding software, and in depth analytics. All of this comes together to make one of the best systems on the market.

Workable’s killer feature is their ability to source directly from the ATS. This is great for teams hunting the harder to find and passive talent. They also seem to constantly push the envelope in terms of thinking about recruiting like a marketer.

Google Hire integrates seamlessly with the G-Suite and has a pricing model which scales from tiny company through enterprise. If you use G-Suite for your company, you should definitely check out this product.

SmartRecruiters is an applicant tracking system that has added a lot of technology to help recruiting teams with the top of their hiring funnels including AI, screening, sourcing, and a whole lot of other buzzwords.

Lever is a company focused on creating a beautiful and intuitive product — and it shows. Beyond the UI, they have a very powerful add on called ‘Nurture’ that is worth taking a look at assuming your company is trying to recruit engineers, diversity candidates, and any other hard to attract job seekers.

BreezyHR was recently acquired, but we see no signs of them slowing down. This is a great system in particular for smaller companies that are going from nothing to their first ATS. They also have a great video interview platform built in that is worth your time.

iCIMS was one of the first SaaS companies and a pioneer in the recruiting technology space. Despite being in the game for a long time, they’ve continued to evolve and have one of the more robust offerings in this space.

ClearCompany is based in Boston (where I live) and has over 5k clients. . Yet, I hadn’t heard of them until recently. . In fact, many people in the HR space keep telling me they don’t know ClearCompany. Well,, I think people should know about them for the simple fact that they have a 99% retention rate! That is almost unheard of for applicant tracking systems.

Hopefully this list is helpful as you look for your next applicant tracking system. If you’re looking for more information on pricing models, etc, I’ve written up a slightly more in depth analysis on SelectSoftware all about the Best Applicant Tracking systems. Enjoy!
