No one likes to iron clothes. Clearing space for the board, waiting for the iron to heat up, all for just one shirt!

After some time, I discovered a superior alternative to irons: a steamer. It uses hot steam to remove wrinkles, eliminating the need for an ironing board. Additionally, it’s versatile and can be used on curtains, sofas, bedding, and more. Very convenient!

There are now numerous options for steamers, such as:

  • Standing garment steamer. Jiffy is one of the most reputable brands and have been making steamers since 1940 in USA. Have one for more than 18 years and still going strong! This is perhaps not too surprising since there isn’t any moving part. The main purpose of a steamer is to boil water and dispense the steam in a controlled manner.
  • Compact, travel-friendly handheld steamer (e.g., from Rowenta)
  • Multi-purpose steamer that can be use for all sorts of cleaning like mopping the floor, loosening dirt and grease on kitchen stovetops (e.g., from BISSELL).

I wish I knew about steamers sooner, because it’s such a time and space saver! I hardly use the iron now, only for sharp creases on pants, which is rare. I use the steamer almost daily. I can quickly steam my clothes in less than a minute before leaving home.
