My first post
For my second Assignment, My task is to research some aspect of the future of work. And I was thinking about research more in-depth into self/auto-driving cars. I will introduce my research topic, discussing the self-driving cars. This topic I have interested because for the transportations that we needed and used every day.
We use vehicles travels around, and we are always on our way to somewhere; Drive to your workplace; drive to your school, or drive to anyplace to eat and hang out with friends. We use vehicles every day, and there are various types of them, aircraft, cars, bicycles, etc. Often, for the transportation tools, people feel stress when you are on an airplane Because the plane certainly does not look like the “safest” vehicle you will have. In fact, the car has a higher accident rate than the airplane. The probability of a plane crash is one in every 1.2 million flights, and it is possible to die in 11 million trips. Your chance of dying in a car or traffic accident is one in 5,000. And you are actually safe when you are on an airplane.
Driving under the influence (DUI), driving while impaired/driving while intoxicated (DWI), operating while intoxicated (OWI), or even use your phones while driving is causing the accident that dangers to others and also causing death to yourself. Although these are crime or offense of driving, they are not eliminated. Auto-driving vehicles are vehicles that sense their environment and navigate without much human input. Self-driving cars combine a variety of techniques to detect the surrounding environment, including radar, laser, GPS, ranging and computer vision.
With all the technology combined could effectively eliminate accident rate to the lowest possible during our day trip while also bring discipline and order to our driving road. For this topic some questions I set out that I would like to explore further are :
When will this technology advance? And become popularization?
Would drivers lose their jobs?
Are these “AI” trustful?
Would this system expensive?
Will this really decrease the accident rate?
