This is a desert season for you but remember deserts are meant to be crossed. You will not stay here forever. But while you’re here, find the things to be grateful for.

If you see the sun, be grateful for it. Even if it is scorching hot and makes you thirsty and dry. Realise that there are other people who are going through a season so dark that they do not have the luxury of the sun.

Take one step at a time. Be grateful for each step. You can’t hurry in a desert; you’ll burn out really quickly.

You don’t have to enjoy the process. That’s a lie you’ve heard. The process is hard, taxing, exhausting. You might never enjoy it, but you can be grateful for it. Because a process is never just for process’ sake. It is for the sake of a beautiful finished product. Be grateful for the hope that at the end of this process, you’ll be a better version of you. Maybe even the best.

Remember who’s got you. Remember who you’ve got.

Accept the process. Accept the breaking, the crushing, the twisting, the wringing, the moulding. Accept it early on because if you don’t break well the first time, the hammer might have to come down again. Release yourself to it and be grateful that you can trust…
