Hot tree
A short poem

Light me up, Burning Bush
Light me up, like fireworks,
I’m a medium-sized tree with some flesh,
Leaves coloured black and gold, like a sunset
Branches long enough for you to grab,
Trunk thick enough for you to hold on.
Start at the bottom, uproot me
Dig in deep, kick the bugs out,
Peel off the bark, leave your marks,
See the stretchmarks, solfa noted,
Tingle them for a tune, hear me jiggle to that.
Curved hills on my trunk,
Holes here and there,
You bring out the insects,
My insides are dry, burn me out,
Burn me to ashes, watch me rise like a phoenix
Then sink into you, fly with you.
