As the world looks towards autonomous vehicles as the future of transport, many companies have tried making a splash in the industry. It seems NVIDIA, a computing company known for top of the line graphics cards, have succeeded in doing so.

The NVIDIA DRIVE AGX is a new chip made for “computing for functionally safe AI-powered self-driving.” Their goal is to enable all companies, from automobile titans to startups, to implement self driving software if need be. The processing power required for an autonomous system to run is massive, and NVIDIA offers an easily scalable platform built for this computation.

The NVIDIA DRIVE software allows users to alter their driving experience, offering “libraries, toolkits, frameworks, source packages, and compilers” for the creation of applications for computation of augmented or fully autonomous driving. The software even includes NVIDIA DRIVE Constellation, a platform which allows owners of the AGX to simulate testing for self-driving vehicles.

While many companies continue to try finding a way into the autonomous vehicle industry, NVIDIA has seamlessly found their path, continuing to provide cutting edge computing and graphics solutions, only this time the computer has wheels.
