What Breaking Even Means

Breaking even is, simply put, the point where a business is making the same amount of money as they’re spending. This is a great tool if you’re planning on running ads and want to know how many customers/sales you need to get to NOT lose money.

Traditionally, this number is used as the divider between loss and profit, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Maybe, by breaking even, or even slightly less than even, you can still make a profit.

Here Is Why Breaking Even Is A Win

When you spend money on advertisements in any way, shape, or form, chances are you’re doing it for the sake of making a profit, right? And sure, of course, this is the goal of any business so that makes a ton of sense.

The thing is, that a lot of people I have talked to about this matter have decided to stop running their ads when they are breaking even or are close to. What they don’t see is, that even though they might not have taken a profit on the front end, they have managed to acquire a free customer.

What this means is, that every penny they make off of that customer in the future will be pure profit. They now have a free customer who have already spent money on their site, making it ten times more possible to sell to him/her again.

How Should You Be Selling To Them Next?

Now that you have acquired a free customer it is time to make sure that they stay loyal to you and your brand. The most powerful way to do this is to utilize Email Marketing. I’m sure you have heard about this before but the fact is, that most businesses have no idea how to send out emails the right way.

I use a software called ActiveCampaing. This is not only perfect for making emails, but also for having your entire email sequence automated and sent out to everyone entering your emails list.

What this does, is that you can write 5–10 emails one time, and then make an automation with Activecampaign that sends out one email at a time every 3-or-so days. Now, you can manage to engage with each of your new customers for a week, a month, or even a whole year on autopilot, by making one simple automation.
