My All Time Starting XI- Midfielders

Lucas Torreira- Arsenal and Uruguay

Surprisingly, one of my favorite midfielders of all time plays for a crosstown rival of my favorite club of all time. Even though my soccer blood bleeds Chelsea blue, Lucas Torreira is the one of the most fun players to watch on the field. He inspires me because of how small and slight he is, yet he still commands the premier league and bosses around guys a full foot taller than him. The best part about him is that he is so young. Being a 22 year old 5 foot 5 midfielder, and still being one of the best, if not the best box to box midfielders is so impressive.

Luka Modrić- Real Madrid CF and Croatia

There are endless reasons why Luka Modric is one of my favorite players of all time. His compassion towards others and his humility despite being voted the best player in the world in 2018. He led a lack luster Croatia side to a world cup final, knocking off international giants with ease, like Argentina and England. Everyone gives all credit to Real Madrids European success to their old center forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, but keep in mind he had a team around him, and the player playing right under him at attacking mid was voted a better overall player at this years ballon d’or. His acrobatics and vision is unmatched to anyone in the world at the moment and it is a joy to watch, yet he is still humble, unlike his ex-Madrid counterpart, Cristiano.
