To achieve its objective of having a Zero Waste Work Environment, McKinley & Rice Creativity Pvt. Ltd., Noida entered into a collaboration with Green-O-Tech, a firm specializing in converting paper waste into useful stationery products on the 16th of July 2019. This is the company’s second initiative under its CSR banner, Abhyudaya.

Under this initiative, the company has decided to limit its paper waste generation using the concepts of 3 Rs. i.e. Reduce, Reuse & Recycle. The company currently generates around 300 kgs of paper waste per quarter. Under this agreement, green — o — Tech would collect this paper from the company’s Noida office and convert it into useful stationery such as notebooks, notepads, etc. The stationary so obtained would be used by the company for the donation to underprivileged kids at Saksham Kids NGO.

Green-o-tech would also do a plantation drive with the company where they have agreed on planting one tree for every 100kg they recycle for us.

The reduction of 1200 kg waste per year translates into saving 23 trees and 30–35% of carbon emissions from the environment. Recycling of paper also reduces air pollution by 74% and water pollution by 35%.

The initiative by Green-O-Tech India for offering plants & stationary against the waste paper is a small initiative where we all can come close to the environment and reduce our impact on it.

The company further aims to eliminate its E-waste production and other allied waste generation by the end of 2019, making the McKinley office a truly zero waste work environment.
