SOP for Medical Emergencies 2024

As part of our ongoing commitment to the well-being of our valued employees, we are pleased to announce the implementation of a comprehensive pre-approved medical insurance policy.

Policy Details

Policy Activation: Immediate

This policy is designed to provide financial assistance and support to our employees in times of medical need. We understand the importance of health and well-being, and this initiative is aimed at ensuring that each member of our McKinley Rice family has access to quality medical care without the burden of substantial expenses.

We believe that this initiative will contribute to a healthier and more secure work environment. Our commitment to the well-being of our employees remains steadfast, and we hope this medical insurance policy provides you with peace of mind and financial security.

General SOP for any medical emergency:

1.Immediate Response:

  • Call emergency services ambulance by dialling 108.
  • If the situation permits, assign someone to meet the ambulance and guide them to the location.
  • Contact the 24*7 available On-call doctors for any emergency by reaching out to the community head.

2. Notify Management:

  • Inform Immediate Supervisors and the Community Head about the medical emergency.
  • The Community Head should inform Top Management for coordination and decision-making via email.
  • The Community Head would contact the emergency contact person listed in the employee’s records Inform them about the situation and provide updates as necessary.

3. Provide First Aid:

  • Provide necessary first aid while awaiting professional help.
  • Ensure the first aid kit is accessible and well-stocked.

4. Escort to the Nearest Medical Facility:

Arrange for a colleague or team member to accompany the affected individual to the nearest medical facility ( as mentioned below).

  • Noida: Metro Hospital, Yatharth Super Speciality, Surbhi Hospital, Neo Hospital, Indogulf Hospital, Felix Healthcare, Tripati Eye Centre, Itek Vision Centre.
  • Pune: Motherhood, Life Care, Vivekand, KK Care Hospital, Fortune Hospital, Life Care Multispeciality Hospital
  • Bangalore: Motherhood, Cloudnine Hospital, Nephroplus Dialysis Center, Jyotsna Hospital etc

If the person is unable to move, ensure they are comfortable and attended to while awaiting medical help.

5. Maintain Privacy:

  • Respect the privacy and confidentiality of the affected individual and their medical information.

6. Document the Incident:

  • The Community Head should document the incident, including details of the emergency, actions taken, and personnel involved and share a report with the Top Management via email.

7. Inform the Team:

  • The Community Head and the Immediate Supervisor would Communicate with the affected individual’s team to keep them informed about the situation.

8. Follow-up and Support:

  • After the medical emergency is resolved, provide the necessary support to the individual and their team i.e. by arranging a session with the doctor or with the Guru.

9. De-Brief and Improve:

  • Conduct a debriefing session of the emergency response process after the incident to identify areas for improvement.
  • Update the SOP based on lessons learned.

10. COVID-19 Considerations:

  • Follow specific protocols related to COVID-19 during medical emergencies, such as providing masks and ensuring social distancing.

11. Post-Emergency Support:

  • Offer support to the affected individual, colleagues, and teams to cope with the emotional aftermath of the emergency.

Note: We must ensure that all employees know this SOP and know how to respond during a medical emergency. Regular training sessions and drills help reinforce the process.
