This week our CEO, George Hartley won the Australia leg of the ‘Are You China Ready?’ startup contest semifinals in Sydney and an all expenses paid trip to the Guangzhou International Innovation Festival in Guangzhou, China.
The competition is hosted by Thero, Brinc, the People’s Government of Tianhe District and the Guangzhou Science Technology and Innovation Commission.
At the Innovation Festival in December, Sendy will join 26 startups from around the world pitching their idea in-front of Chinese VCs, large enterprises, and potential distribution partners. The winner of the final pitch contest will also win a $25,000 USD grand prize. With Sendy launching before the festival — the timing is perfect!
With a population of over 1.3B, the Chinese market is a massive potential opportunity for Sendy. We’ve recently added integrations with messaging apps in our roadmap following the development of our Email Rewards API. Forming relationships with Chinese investors and technology partners is crucial in this next step as we aim to bring Sendy and an open incentive layer to more communication mediums.
