Since we took a major pivot after spring break, we diverged to brainstorm potential features we wanted to include on the app. However, from our most recent feedback, we discovered the need to cut–out features and reduced the app to achieve its simplest form possible for front-end implementation.

Implementing app for App Store

For the past 2 weeks, we put extra efforts to deliver an even simpler version of the app that solely focuses on symptom logging and tracking. As a result, we are currently at a stage where Arshin has started developing the app!

App features

1. Onboarding

The onboarding screen informs the user of the general purpose of the app, which is to offer a stay-home monitoring tool for 14 days quarantine period. On the following screen, the user has a choice to share his or her anonymized symptom logs with the researchers. Of course, we would prefer the user to opt-in for sharing the data so we put a lot of effort into crafting the right tone and voice for the text. We also wanted to be respectful of the user’s decision; we accentuated that they will always have an option to opt-in/out in settings anytime.

2. Dashboard and symptom logging

The first screen user lands on after the onboarding is the dashboard. Here users can log their daily symptoms and get a holistic view of the trends of their symptoms and temperature.

3. Symptom + Temperature Analysis

Simply click on the ‘symptom trend’ section on the dashboard to get a more specific overview of the individual symptoms, and the same goes for ‘temperature trend’.

Finalizing the visual system

To expedite the development effort, we created a sticker sheet of components of buttons and icons and text styles.
