• Condition: Glaucoma — Jeffrey has started to notice pressure in his eye due to glaucoma and is worried for his already deteriorating eyesight.
• Reason for coming in: Wants to find out more about his current condition and whether or not he should be worried. If there is medicine that he can currently be prescribed, he would like to know. His first visit will give him a diagnosis on his condition and what he should do. Afterwards, he will consistently keep visiting until his condition is completely gone.

Why is a Product Necessary?

• Purpose: The product’s main goal or area of focus will be the time after the patient sees the doctor. It will act as a way for the patient to properly digest the information and make sure that they understand things fully and can take their time in doing so. Along with this, it will act as a way for them to ask questions if need be or to spend a little more time to understand what the doctors have just told them. The product will be superior to other products on the market to the intuitiveness of the device and to be designed specifically for those who are visually impaired.

Smart phones such as the IPhone are equipped with the ability to assist visually impaired folks through voice assistance. However, due to the lack of tactility it stands as just a screen where the user has to drag their hand or finger across in order to know which buttons are where. This takes up time and will result in continuous audio.

Recording devices for the visually impaired do exist however their design is rather crude. They rely on buttons and auditory feedback and have a lack in form. Also, the product that is presented above will be focused on trying to deliver healthcare information to the patient rather than just acting as a recording tool that can be used anywhere.
