One of the the most impressive things about the Sensay community — now over 1 million strong — is the variety of creative ways that people find to benefit from tapping into the network.

You might remember how Sri, Head of Technology at Neurlabs, ended up landing a $35,000 development contract by being helpful to a fellow human on Sensay. His story paints an ideal picture of the perks that Sensay can have for your professional life. And what about your personal life?

Espree Devora, Silicon Beach community leader, founder and podcast host of WeAreLATech, shares how she uses the help of anonymous humans on Sensay to save time, serve her community more fully, and even spice up her love life.

What do you KNOW on Sensay?

podcasting, LA tech, public speaking, startups, entrepreneurship, event production, backpacking, and kitchen gadgets

Where are you from? Where do you live and work now?

I’m born and raised LA (in Westwood by UCLA and then Malibu). After having lived in Europe, I returned to LA and now live and work in Santa Monica.

Who are you most passionate about helping?

I’m most passionate about creating an awareness of mutually beneficial relationships amongst our LA startup community.

What was your favorite experience using Sensay so far?

Sensay is dope! I even outsourced my love life to Sensay. I wrote “Need a blind date in Santa Monica” and actually went on one!

Overall Sensay is just super helpful. Think about it like a curated Google… anytime I need to know anything, I just text Sensay and I get an awesome useful response.

What excites you most about being a part of the Sensay community?

It’s a really valuable tool that saves a ton of time. Sensay is almost like an experiment for genuine human connectivity. It brings this big LA city a sense of anonymous neighborly love.

What’s your startup and your mission?

I created WeAreLATech in 2012 to unite the LA Tech community. It includes an ‘Experience’ Club, a top ranked podcast, a mobile app and a robust calendar of all the LA tech events happening in the city. It’s important that we collaborate to support one another in accelerating our success. Having an environment where you feel like you’re hanging out in your best friend’s backyard BBQ makes the journey of being an entrepreneur a lot less isolating.

What might someone be surprised to know about you?

I backpacked 14 countries for four months in 2013 without a computer or phone, meeting with startups every place I visited. My biggest takeaway: fantasies can’t be planned, but they are very much real.
