Every grocery store has “special” deals — great items available for a discount for a short period of time.

It’s our duty as customers to make the most of these.

Typically, grocery stores have these deals for three reasons. To:

  1. Clear inventory/stock
  2. Attract customers for an existing product
  3. Showcase the potential of a new product

In any case, if you see an item you’re interested in that is available on special — just buy more of it.

It’s a simple equation — special discounts x more stuff = more discounts!

Yes, my mum is a math professor. She really is!

But that’s not the point.

The point is that as long as the items are not expired, there are great deals to be scored in the special isle of your grocery store. I buy chocolates, peanut butter, nuts, chippies, and meat when they are on special.

For instance, I buy ten bars of chocolate or five jars of peanut butter when they go on special. As long as I can finish it at some point before it expires, I buy whatever I can. The added advantage is that…
